Vinca minor ‘Miss Gertrude Jekyll’<\/b>

Die laag blijft. <\/span>Vinca minor ‘Gertrude Jekyll’ is het broertje van de blauw-bloeiende Vinca minor<\/a>. Deze variant heeft fijnere bladeren en krijgt witte bloemen. De Britse tuinontwerper en schrijver Gertrude Jekyll gebruikte de eigenschappen van de maagdenpalm voor het eerst in haar Engelse tuinontwerpen. De groei van deze plant is zijwaarts, met ondergrondse uitlopers. Onkruid krijgt hierdoor weinig ruimte. De bloeiperiode is in het vroege voorjaar: februari t\/m april. Vinca minor ‘Gertrude Jekyll’ groeit dan uit tot een groen tapijt met witte bloemen. Na de bloei zorgt het donkergroene blad voor een mooie uitstraling. Doordat deze plant twee soorten stengels heeft, wordt de groei afgeremd (gaat niet woekeren). Vinca minor ‘Gertrude Jekyll’ bereikt een hoogte van circa 15 cm.<\/span>
